Here are tips for living from the heart space:
Treat other beings (people, animals, insects, plants, mother earth), as you would like to be treated.
Remember that people are human and are subject to their own issues and faults.
Accept others as they are. They may be different but we all come from and return to the same place.
Remember each day is a fresh start or new beginning.
Be an example for others — be kind, compassionate and considerate towards others and yourself.
Read or make your own positive affirmations on a daily basis. Some examples that I follow are:
- Be the change you wish to see in this world. I say to myself: I am the change for me so that I may be the change for the world.
- I am the Light.
- Bring the Light in.
- Breathe the Light.
- Be the Light.
Christian D. Larson calls one of my favorites “Promise Yourself”:
Promise yourself to be so strong that nothing can disturb your peace of mind. To talk health, happiness and prosperity to every person you meet. To make all your friends feel that there is something in them. To look at the sunny side of everything and make your optimism come true. To think only of the best, to work only for the best and expect only the best. To be just as enthusiastic about the successes of others as you are about your own. To forget the mistakes of the past and press on to the greater achievements of the future. To wear a cheerful countenance at all times and give every living creature you meet a smile. To give so much time to the improvement of yourself that you have no time to criticize others. To be too large for worry, too noble for anger, too strong for fear and too happy to permit the presence of trouble.
I suggest reading the Four Agreements by Don Miguel Ruiz. A short version is as follows:
Be Impeccable With Your Word. Speak with Integrity. Say only what you mean. Avoid using the word to speak against yourself or to gossip about others. Use the power of your word in the direction of truth and love.
- Don’t Take Anything Personally. Nothing others do is because of you. What others say and do is a projection of their own reality, their own dream. When you are immune to the opinions and actions of others, you won’t be the victim of needless suffering.
- Don’t Make Assumptions. Find the courage to ask questions and to express what you really want. Communicate with others as clearly as you can to avoid misunderstandings, sadness and drama. With just this one agreement, you can completely transform your life.
- Always Do Your Best. Your best is going to change from moment to moment; it will be different when you are healthy as opposed to sick. Under any circumstance, simply do your best and you will avoid self-judgment, self-abuse and regret.
Be in love with yourself and treat yourself like you did with your first love.
If I ever have trouble getting into the heart space of love, then I put my left hand over my heart. By doing that it automatically connects me and I feel better.
The best present we can give ourselves, according to the animal kingdom, is to enjoy or lives every moment of every day. Stay Present. Learn from our past so that we may create a better future. This will help us to see and be our purpose.
